"A good example of a mid 19th Century Afshar Bag face, well drawn, with a spacious white border. Low in pile with missing selvedges, this is still and excellent example of it's type. "

A fine and unusual Afshar Bag in near perfect condition with good natural colours. The border and field design is reminiscent of West Anatolian Heybes

"An unusual Baktiyari bag with yomut elements. In full pile, natural dyes, with a red, blue & green striped back."

Central Anatolia Yastik Circa 1850 19 x 29 (in) 48 x 73 (mm) £ 800  
"A Central Anatolian yastik in Good condition. A similar piece is illustrated in Bruggemann & Bohmer, cat no. 36 that the rug shows a Chordor Gul in small squares. The yastik has vibrant natural colours, including an early brown/purple."

East Anatolian Yastik circa 1875 34 x 26 (in) 86 x 66 (mm) £ 800  
"An East Anatolian yastik, possibly Armenian. Full pile, contains fuchsine dye, now faded to a dark yellow."

East Anatolian Bag late 19th Century 16 x 14 (in) 41 x 35 (mm) £ 250  
"An East Anatolian bag, possibly made by the Kurds of Malatya. In good pile it has a cotton and silver cross at it's center."

Ersari Bridal Trapping mid 19th Century 53 x 19 (in) 1.35 x 48 (mm) £ 900  
Mackie and Thompson suggest that Ersari pieces this size are Bridal Wedding Trappings rather than torbas. The central design is 25% longer than usual with the RH design having it's center medallion sliding off into the border. This piece has wonderful colours including a glowing red and a petrol blue. It is in good condition except for the corner missing from the LH side and chipping to the bottom edge.

Jaff Kurd Bag Face late 19th Century 26 x 24 (in) 67 x 61 (mm) £ 450  
A better than usual Jaf Kurd Bag Face with deep soft wool. Dyed with saturated natural colours that glow in sunlight. A few small areas of wear and a small patch inserted in the top edge.

Kashan Tea House Purse Circa 1950 8 x 8.5 (in) 20 x 22 (mm) £ 275  
"A complete Tea House purse with apictorial woven face and leather back, belt loops and sides. The image shows Nur Ali Shah, an 18th Century Dervish Shaykh, resting on a tiger skin, holding an apple in one had and a pipe / axe with the other hand. His bag hangs from the weeping willow tree he is sitting under. The piece has a hot orange and has had two holes repaired."

"A Kurd Chanteh, from NW Iran?, with long soft wool dyed with natural colours. It has kilim back woven in thick striped colour bands"

Kurd Bag late 19th Century 16 x 11 (in) 41 x 26 (mm) £ 200  
An interesting Kurdish flat woven bag. Made in one piece it has since been opened into a single panel. In good condition with natural colours.

"A Luri Salt Bag, with deep satuarted colours and a striped flatwoven back. "

Luri Chanteh Bag Face circa 1900 9 x 7 (in) 23 x 17 (mm) £ 225  
"A Luri Chanteh face, or child's bag face? This strange piece with a design I have previously not seen was bought in the Tehran Bazaar 20 years ago, it was also unknown to the dealer who sold it. It could well be a practice piece by an apprentice weaver. The wool is long and soft with vibrant natural colours."

Luri Double Saddle Bags Dated 1910 13 x 30 (in) 33 x 76 (mm) £ 650  
A near perfect Luri Double Saddle Bags woven in saturated natural colours onto deep soft wool. Unusually it is dated 1328 and is signed 'Made (by) Fatimeh Bekom. The back is striped flatweave with some slight staining.

A Luri Chanteh with cross design. Piled face with a striped Kilim back. In good condition except for about 10 knots eaten by moths. The orange colour is probably synthetic

A charming chanteh with four goats in the field and a colourful striped back. In good pile and colour except for a very small amount of fushine highlights around two flowers.

"A SW Persian Lors Tribes Chanteh, good colours and general condition, although sides bound by blue cloth and signs or wear. "

NW Persian Kurd Salt Bag late 19th Century 20 x 17 (in) 51 x 43 (mm) £ 475  
"Kurd Salt Bag with an unusual design that includes a comb & bird. In good condition and colour, with slight corrosion to the white wool."

Quashquai Bag Face Fragment mid 19th Century 23 x 21 (in) 58 x 53 (mm) £ 275  
A finely woven early Quashquai Bag Face fragment. Woven in soft wool and a wide range of vibrant colours this piece had been cut to use as a chair cover and attacked by moth.
