Luri Chanteh Bag Face circa 1900 9 x 7 (in) 23 x 17 (mm) £ 225
"A Luri Chanteh face, or child's bag face? This strange piece with a design I have previously not seen was bought in the Tehran Bazaar 20 years ago, it was also unknown to the dealer who sold it. It could well be a practice piece by an apprentice weaver. The wool is long and soft with vibrant natural colours."

Luri Double Saddle Bags Dated 1910 13 x 30 (in) 33 x 76 (mm) £ 650
A near perfect Luri Double Saddle Bags woven in saturated natural colours onto deep soft wool. Unusually it is dated 1328 and is signed 'Made (by) Fatimeh Bekom. The back is striped flatweave with some slight staining.

"A finely woven Manastir Kilim yastik produced in the Balkans at the end of the Ottoman period. The white is a coarse spun natural cotton, whilst the other colours are wool, dyed in the traditional palette of this region"

"Kurd Salt Bag with an unusual design that includes a comb & bird. In good condition and colour, with slight corrosion to the white wool."

Quashquai Bag Face Fragment mid 19th Century 23 x 21 (in) 58 x 53 (mm) £ 275
A finely woven early Quashquai Bag Face fragment. Woven in soft wool and a wide range of vibrant colours this piece had been cut to use as a chair cover and attacked by moth.

Quashquai Chanteh circa 1900 12 x 16 (in) 30 x 41 (mm) £ 275
"A flat woven Quasquai Chanteh in excellent condition woven in vibrant natural colours. The front face has a soft hooked lattice design whilst the reverse face has cross designs woven onto a stunning red back ground. Three of four tassels remain, one without an end. "

Quashquai (Kashkuli) Bag Face circa 1875 8 x 10 (in) 20 x 26 (mm) £ 225
An unusual Quasquai (Kashkuli) Bag Face fragment. Cotton foundation and heavily ribbed back indicates that this is a village made Quasqai piece. This cross design is rare in Quasqai literature and with only a single piece published.

"A small Quasquai purse with a piled front and decorative kilim back. The piece is in excellent condition, but some of the dyes are synthetic."

"A half of a Khorjin is in good condition, full pile and deeply saturated colours. A similar piece can be seen in Woven Gardens, plate 32"

Shahsavan child's saddlebags mid 19th Century 20 x 7 (in) 51 x 18 (mm) £ 350
"A Shahsavan child's flatwoven double saddlebags. The bag is mounted on a frame with black linen fabric. Embroidered with rows of animals and flowers, this piece is a reflection of a lost tribal art."

"A reverse Sumak Shahsavan Chanteh, possibly Hastrud-Mianeh. Warps are a mixture of both cotton and wool strands. It has the remains (about 75% of a striped kilim back. "

Shahsavan Flat woven bags late 19th Century 27 x 11 (in) 68 x 28 (mm) £ 250
Woven in camel wool and then embroidered with sheeps wool dyed saturated natural colours. This small double saddle bag could have been made by or for a child. The fastening loops have become detatched but otherwise in good condition.

A 12 Guk Tekke Torba fragment with glowing colours. The velvet like wool is in good pile except some small areas of corrosion or insect damage to dark brown. Missing side borders and two small holes.

Used for decorating the heads of sheep or goats during religious ceremonies this piece contains synthetic dyes..
